The table has a six-character code, and the share button sends it as a link: pokerchipsapp.com/j/<code>. On a phone that has the app, tapping the link opens it straight into joining with the code filled in. Without the app it opens a page showing the code.
The code always works on its own too — it is the one that gets read aloud across the table.
Playing in the same room, every device must be on the same Wi-Fi network. A phone on mobile data will not find the table, and neither will one on a guest network that isolates clients from each other.
The first time you open a table, iOS asks for permission to find devices on your local network. If you declined it, the app cannot see anything: turn it back on in Settings → Poker Chips → Local Network.
Playing remotely there is no such requirement — everyone just needs an internet connection and the table code.
In a local game, anyone at the table can take over. On another device, open the app and choose Take over the table. Chip counts and the dealer button carry over.
One limit: if the app was dealing the cards, the current hand is lost with the host's device, because nobody else has the deck. Start the next hand and carry on.
In a remote game the table lives on the server, so the table remains available: open the app again and choose Resume session.
The session sheet has Take a break for the whole table, and your own row has Sit out for stepping away without leaving. No new hand starts while a break is on, and a break called mid-hand takes effect when the hand ends. Blinds missed while away are not collected on return.
Cash out and leave ends your evening: your chips are counted, you leave when the current hand is done, and your result stays in the settlement. The app asks before it does it.
The settlement shows who owes whom, in chips or in a unit you chose when the table was created. The share button makes a card you can send to the group chat: standings, the night's winner and the number of hands. Who pays whom is not on that card — it is read from the settlement itself.
Nothing to sign up for and nothing to remember. In local play, game traffic stays between the devices on your Wi-Fi; a content report is sent only when you explicitly submit one. In remote play, the table runs on our server and stops being restorable 24 hours after its last activity. Public reveals and the showdown verification seed may be saved with that table record. Either way, deleting the app mid-session loses that session on your phone.

Samassa huoneessa pelatessa kaikkien laitteiden on oltava samassa Wi-Fi-verkossa. Mobiilidatalla oleva puhelin ei löydä pöytää, eikä myöskään sellainen joka on vierasverkossa jossa laitteet on eristetty toisistaan.
Ensimmäisellä kerralla iOS kysyy luvan etsiä laitteita lähiverkosta. Jos kielsit sen, sovellus ei näe mitään: kytke se takaisin kohdasta Asetukset → Poker Chips → Paikallisverkko.
Etäpelissä tällaista vaatimusta ei ole — riittää että jokaisella on nettiyhteys ja pöydän koodi.
Lähipelissä kuka tahansa pöydästä voi ottaa vetovastuun. Avaa sovellus toisella laitteella ja valitse Ota pöytä haltuun. Merkit ja jakajanappi säilyvät.
Yksi rajoitus: jos sovellus jakoi kortit, kesken oleva käsi katoaa isännän laitteen mukana, koska pakka ei ole kenelläkään muulla. Aloita seuraava käsi ja jatkakaa.
Etäpelissä pöytä on palvelimella, joten pöytä säilyy puhelimen sammumisesta huolimatta: avaa sovellus uudelleen ja valitse Jatka iltaa.
Illan hallinnasta saa koko pöydälle tauon (Pidä tauko), ja omalta paikalta pääsee tauolle jäämättä pois illasta (Tauolle). Tauolla ei aloiteta uutta kättä, ja kesken käden painettu tauko astuu voimaan kun käsi on pelattu. Menetettyjä blindejä ei peritä paluussa.
Kassaan ja pois päättää oman iltasi: merkit lasketaan, lähdet kun kesken oleva käsi on pelattu, ja tuloksesi jää loppuselvitykseen. Sovellus kysyy ennen kuin tekee.
Loppuselvitys kertoo kuka maksaa kenelle, merkkeinä tai siinä yksikössä jonka valitsit pöytää luodessa. Jakonapista saa kortin ryhmächättiin: tulostaulu, illan voittaja ja pelattujen käsien määrä. Velkalistaa siinä ei ole — se luetaan loppuselvityksestä.
Ei mitään mihin rekisteröityä eikä mitään muistettavaa. Samassa huoneessa pelatessa puhelimet puhuvat vain keskenään eikä mikään lähde wifistänne. Etänä pelatessa pöytä pyörii palvelimellamme eikä sitä voi enää palauttaa vuorokauden kuluttua viimeisestä tapahtumasta. Vanhentunut tallenne poistuu pyynnöstä, käynnistyksessä tai palvelimen viiden minuutin siivouksessa. Kesken käden yksityinen jako on palvelimen muistissa. Julkiset paljastukset ja showdownin tarkistussiemen voivat tallentua pöydän mukana vuorokaudeksi. Lisätiedot ovat tietosuojaselosteessa.
